First Lieutenant David J. Fahrenbach Class of 2014

Medal of Honor

United States Army

Air Medal with “V” Device

For heroism while engaged in aerial flight in connection with operations against a hostile force: First Lieutenant Fahrenbach distinguished himself while flying an 01-D aircraft in support of the operations of a special forces camp. He made numerous low level attacks on the enemy to keep them from over running the friendly position. On all rocket attacks he was subject to heavy enemy fire. He kept the enemy pinned down until the forward air controller arrived with tactical aircraft and was responsible for the successful completion of this mission. His actions were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit and the United States Army.
