For exceptionally valorous achievement while assigned as the NCOIC and Senior Mentor of the COY of the combined US/HU/ANA OMLT-A 1.6 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. SFC Frient's movement of his element forward while under direct automatic weapons fire from a nearby hilltop allowed his team to reach their objective. Sergeant Frient's actions reflect distinct credit upon himself, the 170th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, and The United States Army.
