Private First Class Donald Miller Class of 2007

Army Commendation Medal

United States Army

Army Commendation Medal with "V" Device
Citation

For heroism in connection with military operations against a hostile force: Private First Class Miller distinguished himself by heroic actions on 11 March 1969, while serving with Company B, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry in the Republic of Vietnam. While in their road security positions for the Dau Tieng convoy, elements of Company B came under an attack from an NVA force. During the fire fight several men were wounded. Knowing the medic needed help, Private Miller assisted with the wounded. With complete disregard for his own safety, Private Miller moved through the area giving life saving first aid to his comrades. His valorous actions kept several men from further harm due to his rapid treatment. Private Miller’s personal bravery, aggressiveness, and devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, the 25th Infantry Division, and the United States Army.
