Army Commendation Medal w/"V" Device

For valor under fire in the face of insurgent forces in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During an ambush, Corporal Riley dismounted from his position to render first aid to wounded members of The Afghan National Army. He then stationed himself in an exposed position in order to direct the fire of his gunner which contributed in saving the lives of his fellow soldiers. His initiative and courage in a combat zone are indicative of the highest standards of service and reflects great credit upon himself, the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, and the United States Army.
