Bronze Star Medal w/"V" Device

For valor above and beyond the call of duty while serving as a rifleman, 3rd Platoon, Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment. Private First Class Conley distinguished himself through exemplary duty performance and intestinal fortitude under enemy fire. While reinforcing a defensive position after a rocket propelled grenade attack a comrade was gravely wounded by an enemy sniper. Private first Class Conley immediately returned fire and suppressed the sniper and gained fire superiority. He then moved through enemy fire to the side of the wounded comrade and moved him to a position that was covered and concealed. Private First Class Conley's actions on that day contributed to the overall success of the mission and reflect great credit upon himself, the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, the 101st Airborne Division and the United States Army.
