For heroism in connection with military operations against a hostile force: Private First Class Isaacs distinguished himself by exceptionally valorous actions on 26 March 1966 while serving as a squad point man during a search and destroy mission near Tuy Hoa, Republic of Vietnam. Observing two Viet Cong moving behind some rocks to his front, Private First Class Isaacs immediately pursued them. After finding and killing one, he continued to search for the other. As a result he prevented his squad from receiving Viet Cong fire. Later Private First Class Isaacs detected and shot another Viet Cong. As the wounded insurgent desperately crawled into a cave to hide, Private First Class Isaacs proceeded into the cave and killed him. Through his courage and determination, he contributed immeasurably to the success of the mission. Private First Class Isaacs' personal bravery and devotion to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
