Beam Class of 2006 United States Army Silver Star Citation For gallantry in action in the vicinity of Djebel Tefifilia, Tunisia, January 25, 1943. Corporal Beam voluntarily accompanied his officer on a patrol toward enemy lines to determine the exact location of the enemy outposts. He located one outpost and deliberately drew fire to determine its strength. Corporal Beam’s daring on this occasion was an inspiration to his fellow soldiers. Medal No. 19270.
