Warrant Officer Joseph M. Sepesy. For heroism while
participating in aerial flight in the Republic of Vietnam.
Warrant Officer Sepesy distinguished himself by exceptionally
valorous action on 14 May 1970. Disregarding his own safety,
he courageously exposed himself to the danger inherent in
aerial flight as he directed his effort to neutralizing
the enemy threat. His heroic and valiant actions were characterized
by a great concern for the welfare of his comrades and contributed
materially to the successful accomplishment of the United
States mission in the Republic of Vietnam. His heroic actions
are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military
service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit
and the United States Army.
