For exceptionally valorous achievement as a Ranger Squad Leader for a Joint Task Force in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

During the period encompassing 9-10 July 2009, Staff Sergeant White led an assault on multiple compounds in order to provide cover for the assault force during a six-hour direct fire engagement that resulted in twelve enemy combatants eliminated and three friendly wounded in action.

Braving heavy enemy fire from close range and imminent threats from multiple locations, Staff Sergeant White continued to assist fellow Rangers who were immobilized by enemy fire. Through his distinctive accomplishments, Staff Sergeant White reflected great credit upon himself, this command and the United States Army.

David White is the recipient of one other Bronze Star Medal with
Combat ā€œVā€ as well. He retired from active duty as a Master Sergeant (E-8).

His home of record upon entering the service was Toledo, Ohio.
