COLUMBUS – The twentieth annual induction ceremony for The Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor Class of 2019 will be conducted on Friday, May 3, 2019.  The ceremony will take place in the Atrium at the Ohio Statehouse, commencing at 11:30 a.m.

This year’s class of 22 inductees includes representatives from the U.S. Army,

U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Marine Corps who served during the conflicts in the Civil War

(4 inductees), Vietnam and the Middle East.  There are nine posthumous awards.

 

These remarkable Ohioans have all gone above and beyond the call of duty and performed heroically in specific combat actions against armed enemies of the United States of America.  For their actions, they have received such commendations as the Congressional Medal of Honor, the Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star with “V” device, and the Commendation Medal with “V”.

 

This year’s inductees were born in, entered military service from, or currently reside in various towns and cities in Ohio, including: Ashland, Athens, Berlin Center, Beverly, Carbon Hill, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Delaware, Dover, East Palestine, Hammondsville, Jackson Center, Lisbon, Marietta, Marysville, Munroe Falls, Newcomerstown, Pataskala, Shaker Heights, Sidney, Steubenville, Sugar Creek, Twinsburg, Waterford, Williamsburg, Wooster, Xenia, and Youngstown.

 

This year’s ceremony will bring the total number of Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor inductees to 392, of whom eleven were awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.

 

The induction ceremony is open to the public.
