Heroic achievement in action on 10 January 1945 in the vicinity of Hottviller, France. When enemy artillery cut the vital communication lines between the platoons of their company, Sergeant Perry went out under the enemy barrage and repaired the broken lines. Sergeant Perry and additional Soldiers worked all night under fire so heavy that upon one occasion, they were blown off their feet. Their courage and devotion to duty reflect credit upon themselves and upon the Armed Forces of the United States.
