SGT. Jame A. Ducey, 18th Company, 2d Battalion, 5th Marines, Belleau Wood, June 13, 1918.  During the attack, this man and another advanced on an enemy machine gun which was firing on our attacking waves, engaged a German officer and two men in hand-to-hand battle, killed them and captured the machine gun, thus enabling our waves to advance at this point.  This man was also awarded a Silver Star at Soissons.
