Sergeant Kimberly D. Snow Class of 2016

Army Commendation Medal with

Army Commendation Medal w/"V" Device

For valorous and extraordinary achievement during ground combat operations against enemy forces in Fallujah, Iraq. Sergeant Snow's dedication to accurately portraying soldiers' valorous acts on the battlefield proved invaluable time and time again as 2nd Platoon found itself under heavy enemy contact. On one occasion 2nd Platoon dismounts were moving to clear a house when they were bombarded by enemy small arms fire. With two of her comrades, she was pinned down. Sergeant Snow instinctively reached for her rifle to lay down suppressive fire allowing the two men pinned down with her to escape to safety. Sergeant Snow then picked up her camera and exposed herself to four LAV 25s and one tank to capture pictures of the combat. Her courage under fire provided the Brigade with photos of caches and proof that Fallujah was a safe haven for terrorist forces. Sergeant Snow's dedication to her fellow soldiers on the battlefield upholds the finest traditions of military service and reflects great credit upon herself, 3rd Brigade Combat Team and the United States Army.
